Indian textiles and style have inspired the world for centuries. While many marvel at the softness of Pashmina shawls and paisley patterns, and the intricate detailing of Madras checks and bandana prints, most do not realise that many of these global design elements trace their roots back to India’s rich textile heritage. Indian designs and designers today are emerging as frontrunners in the global fashion industry. Tapping into this momentum, Pearl Academy returned to the prestigious London Fashion Week 2026 for its fourth consecutive showcase, in association with Fashion Week & the City.
As audiences gathered at the iconic St John’s Church in Hyde Park Crescent this February for the London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter showcase, anticipation filled the space. The audience was captivated by a show featuring models in intricately curated ensembles that celebrated traditional Indian craftsmanship, textiles, and design philosophies. The collection was showcased by Pearl Academy students and alumni, including Zavoir by Swarali, SHEERS Bridal Boutique by Reha, and Saanjh by Saloni, offering global exposure to young talents.

Pearl Academy students and alumni took the centre stage during the Fashion Week & the City show at the London Fashion Week. Each collection took inspiration from the Indian textiles, surface techniques, and craftsmanship, while also bringing in their individual styles, stories, and references.
Zavoir by Swarali
The collection put together by Zavoir by Swarali included Indian design elements such as combined sculpted drapes, contoured corsetry, and bias-cut silhouettes with traditional textiles and surface ornamentation. The idea behind the collection was to bring out the coexistence of strength and fluidity in the modern woman. Furthermore, the designs by Zavoir by Swarali go deep into Indian design philosophy traditions by incorporating a palette of rose, wine, ivory, and metallic tones, along with pearl detailing and sheer layering of the clothing. The show also marked the international debut for Zavoir by Swarali, showcasing her refined skills and talent following her training at Pearl Academy.
SHEERS Bridal Boutique by Reha
A Pearl Academy alumni (2013 batch), Reha’s journey came full circle when she presented her brand’s anniversary collection at London Fashion Week. The moment highlighted the story of her brand, SHEERS Bridal Boutique, growing from a small studio to an independent bridal boutique. The designs presented by the brand allowed the audience to revisit the lifecycle of the wedding garment through clean silhouettes, breathable fabrics, and detachable elements. Additionally, SHEERS Bridal Boutique's collection made sustainability and longevity in bridalwear the focus of their designs.
Saanjh by Saloni
Named Cloud Devotion, the collection designed by Saloni took inspirations from Indian philosophical references such as scriptures like the Bhagavad Gita. The designs conveyed the message of love, balance, and inner freedom. In terms of design elements, Saloni utilised intricate hand embroidery incorporating symbolic motifs paired with a palette of cloud white and soft lilac. Furthermore, Saanjh by Saloni took one step further by weaving these techniques into contemporary silhouettes to deliver narrative-led designs.
