One of Pearl Academy’s most interesting programs is its B. Des. in Fashion Styling. The rationale for offering a B. Des. program in Fashion Styling stems from the growing significance of styling and visual communication in contemporary society. This program equips aspiring fashion stylists with a versatile skill set, encompassing fashion, design, and cutting-edge technology, which heightens their competitiveness in the evolving fashion and styling job market.
Emphasizing sustainability and a global perspective, it readies graduates for the interconnected and ever-evolving fashion industry. Additionally, the programme focuses on costume design that ensures that our graduates align with the ever growing film and OTT domains for styling and costume.

Program Curriculum
This program is underpinned by several key academic objectives, which specifically cater to the realm of fashion styling and its subdomains. In the B. Des. Fashion Styling program, students first establish a solid foundation, developing observation, visualization, and historical fashion knowledge. The second year deepens their understanding, focusing on constructing narrative-driven fashion images and practical aspects like personal styling and image editing. In the third year, students specialize in editorial, art direction, commercial, and wedding styling, with international projects and an industry internship. The final year delves into film, teaching filmmaking, character and costume design, video editing, and publicity. Students culminate their studies with research projects, equipping them with the skills to excel in the dynamic fashion styling industry across various mediums, from print to the silver screen.
The mode of learning
The B. Des. in Fashion Styling is a full-time program with a learning curriculum that comprises primarily of in-person learning. Students may have a partially hybrid schedule based on projects they undertake with the industry.

The Foundation curriculum consists of the following:
- Visual Representation: Covering manual and digital representation ( 2 semesters)
- Material Explorations ( 2 semesters)
- Fundamentals of Design ( 2 semester)
- Digital Tools: Software for visual representation
- History of Design ( 1 semester)
- Introduction to specialization ( 1 semester)
Students at Pearl Academy often gain experience prior to graduation, through work across events, internships, life projects, fashion shows and other allied activities.
