Sasikumar Kanniyappan is a dedicated professor at Pearl Academy, specialising in Creative Practices. With a deep-rooted passion for Art and design, he consistently seeks to expand his knowledge across various artistic mediums, mainly focusing on ceramic design and sculptures.
Coming from a long line of artisans spanning four generations, Sasikumar aspires to establish himself as a renowned artist and leave an indelible mark on the art and design movement. He aims to impart the wisdom acquired from his family, ancestors, and contemporaries to the younger generation.
Sasikumar's educational journey includes achievements like a First-Class B.Sc. degree in ceramics from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, University of Madras, and a Master's degree (MFA) in Ceramics. He's even pursued specialised training in pottery and glass techniques in India and internationally. He aims to convey his experiences and observations of society through his work, blending traditional skills with contemporary mediums.
