Pearl Students presents Pearl Utsav ‘07
~ Padam Shree danseuse Smt. Geeta Chandran is the Chief Guest for the day~
Delhi, October 27th, 2007: Pearl Academy of Fashion, country’s leading fashion institute hosted its students festival – Pearl Utsav ‘07- in the Delhi on Saturday, October 27th, 2007 at Pragati Maidan. This was the first time that a series of inter-collegiate competitions were organized as part of the festival. More than 20 colleges from the Delhi University, fashion colleges and art colleges participated in the competitions.
Chief Guest for the event was Padam Shree danseuse Smt. Geeta Chandran along with renowned DJ Karan as the Guest of Honour for the event.
Highlights of the day were the T-shirt design Competition, fashion presentations, Theatre, Music and Choreography art. The event was identical with zeal, competition, anticipation, exhilaration and tradition. The creations of the students were showcased through drama choreographed by the students leaving the audience mesmerized.
The theme of the event was ‘Evolution’ and it was showcased by Pearl students through dance. The art of dance incorporates five stages that have evolved from the state of "Shoonya", the earliest human state where emotions do not exist. Gradually the human evolved with krodh, Shringar, Raudr, Shant, and Abhbudhras as five elements of emotion. The dances presented by the students transported everyone involved into another realm altogether.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Geeta Chandran said, “The show was an aesthetic mix of creativity and passion and the sense of music and imagination of these Pearl students is amazing. Pearl Utsav is a platform that undoubtedly gives them exposure and bright prospects for their future and I wish all the best to all of them in their future endeavors.”
Mr. A.K.G Nair, Group Director – PAF further added “The event is not just a line up of event and fun for students but it is a unique festival that showcases to the general public. Visitors get to know about the institute, appreciate the students' talent and get to know what students out here do. We look forward to such works that will constantly reinvent all of us and the spirit of Pearl Academy.” |
