More than 50 students of the graduating batches showcased their works.
Some of the most interesting design ranges for Home collections developed by the Textile Design graduates were on display. The gamut of themes explored by the students of Textile design range from montage of childhood to Indian Goddess, from history to underwater paradise, from nature to cityscape and others.
In same lines, Communication Design students presented some of the most innovative and inspiring creations in product packaging, animation, print graphics, web art and new materials.

Rich countries obsessed with staying one step ahead will now have to face competition from countries like ours, leapfrogging with home spun state-of-the-art innovations that have global markets”.
“Institutes like Pearl Academy of Fashion have a very important role to play for our traditional knowledge systems and their associated cultural industries. The art and fashion fraternity need to drive grassroot development strategies, generate ideas and prototypes that rework our heritage as a viable paradigm for growth and socioeconomic recovery,” Sethi added.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. AKG Nair – Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion said, “Textile & Communication feature in every aspect of daily life and these specialist designers have the opportunity to shape fundamentally the way we live. The practice led course is designed to initiate and encourage change and innovation in designing.”
The Textile design course combines traditional materials and processes with innovation in order to provide exciting and contemporary materials-based textile design in print, weave and knits. Similarly, the 4 year BA Honours Communication Design course prepares students for lasting careers as designers in the print and digital media, or those for web pages, or the multimedia. It provides students with a broad based exposure to graphic design issues, a comprehensive understanding of the functioning of the communication industry, with a special emphasis on print and electronic media. Both the programmes develop practical skills, creative judgement and professional confidence in designing and an opportunity to develop personal style. |
