Pearl Academy introduces first PG programme of such kind in the country
New Delhi, September 29, 2006 : Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF) has introduced a first ever course in Fashion Marketing - Post Graduate professional programme in Fashion Marketing (FM) commencing in November 2006. Indian fashion industry has realised the need for a focused Fashion marketing course to train manpower who can take up the new positions as fashion marketers / fashion brand managers / luxury brand manager in apparel, fashion accessories, hi-fashion and home textiles sectors. The newly launched programme is customized to cater to fill this gap for trained professionals.
It allows for a broad intake of graduate-level students from diverse backgrounds to gain basic concepts and knowledge in core fashion business studies and train them in advanced, comprehensive managerial skills and techniques required for the Fashion Marketing.
“ India has seen an influx of fashion brands and will witness many more soon. With their forays in Indian markets, there is a marked need for fashion marketing professionals. Untill now, roles of fashion marketing professionals were being juxtaposed with merchandisers and sometimes replaced by merchandisers. Even MBAs are doing well in this field but they have either learnt on the job or were sent to fashion schools for short term courses. The fashion marketing programme aims to fill this gap for the industry by offering marketing professionals trained to drive new brand initiatives in the fashion value chain”, said A K G Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion.
This programme emphasizes on intensive theoretical and applied training in core areas of fashion marketing, merchandising, product knowledge and other components of fashion value chain with stress on computer applications as well. |
