Pearl academy of fashion presents “time 2 communicate ideas”
An exhibition showcasing New Media art by students
New Delhi , September 14, 2006: Pearl Academy of Fashion, one of India’s leading fashion institutes, presented new media works of their 1 st and 2 nd year Communication Design students at the two-day exhibition, aptly dubbed as “Time 2 Communicate Ideas”. Students presented some of the most innovative and inspiring creations in animation, print graphics, web art and new materials. The event also witnessed eminent personalities like, the three time Panda award winner, Mr. Mike Pandey who was the Chief Guest for the inauguration of the exhibition.
Lauding the effort, Mr. Mike Pandey said, “It is extremely heartening to see the capability of these students. This is an encouraging and appreciable effort by the students and the institute to promote new media art and the power of creativity. In fact the invitation card itself incorporated elements of communicating with creativity.”
Mr. A K G Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion, said, “I am more than excited to see the potential and creativity of the 1 st and 2 nd year communication design students. At Pearl, it is our constant effort to create and open new avenues for our students to explore and substantiate their creativity. The themes of the exhibition was “The Time 2 Communicate – IDEAS” .
The BA Honours Communication Design is a 4-year Degree programme, validated by the Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK. This programme prepares students for lasting careers as designers in the print and digital media, or those for web pages, or the multimedia. Students could join at assistant art director levels, in the corporate and government sectors, advertising agencies, film studios, or even as freelancers. This programme provides students with a broad based exposure to graphic design issues, a comprehensive understanding of the functioning of the communication industry, with a special emphasis on print and electronic media, and an opportunity to develop a personal style. Students can choose their specialization area from amongst Typography, Video, Photography, Audiovisuals, Information Design, Computer graphics, Advanced Ergonomics, Exhibition Design, Illustration, Studies in form, product detailing and product visualization. |
